Issues! So many issues are invading our space right now with covid still on the horizon, and some new strains appearing, and all the stuff we have going on in our own lives! I for one am still trying to get my manuscript for the devotional I have already written, approved by the publisher, and sent off to the printer. It will all work out in God’s perfect timing…I keep repeating that to myself!
Still, I just want us all to be informed enough about some basic issues that if we have the opportunity to give someone else the ‘Reader’s Digest’ version on a topic, or, if we are asked why we are for, or against a candidate, we will be able to respond intelligently. So…
Here is what the Bible says about some of the issues that will become center stage in this election cycle.
LIFE God is pro-life, so we should be as well. There is forgiveness for anyone who has had an abortion, but God says; CHOOSE LIFE.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM This nation was founded on the Judeo Christian Ethics, yet, everyone has the opportunity to worship as they please. This right should never be hindered by any government authority, even in the midst of a pandemic!
In the beginning of Genesis God created men and women to populate the earth. Since that is an impossible task in a homosexual relationship, God does not condone same sex relationships. We have strayed as a nation to allow these sham marriages into our law books. The gender you are assigned at birth-IS who you are! There can be no change in gender changes sanctioned by God…it is a trick of the enemy of your soul.
It is OUR responsibility as parents to be sure our children are not only getting the education they need to be successful in life, but also to be sure the education is accurate and does not teach our children rebellious ways. The only way to do that is to be involved in your child’s work! Ask questions, inspect the books, go to meetings, speak up when something is causing you to question. It is your responsibility!
The Bible teaches us to be responsible for our own well-being. We have become far too dependent on the government and their help. Remember, what the government gives, it can also take away!
Why are we so tied to the peace of Jerusalem? Remember, the Jewish nation was chosen by God to bring our Savior into the world. For this, we should be always thankful, and prayerful. And, God promised to bless those who bless Israel!
I am reminded of a quote by a former President of the US, “WE RECOGNIZE NO SOVEREIGN BUT GOD, AND NO KING BUT JESUS!” Of course our belief in God affects how we vote. The two entities of God and government are inseparable! VOTE YOUR VALUES!
Any thoughts?
