Romans 13:8

(NIV) Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

PRAYER PROMPT FOR MONDAY; PRAY FOR THOSE CLOSEST TO YOU…FAMILY AND AND FRIENDS

Today was the very first time since St. Patrick’s Day my husband and I were able to go out to a restaurant and sit inside to eat. Of course, we still had to walk in with masks, and we both had to sit on the same side of the booth, but, we were inside! We had an enjoyable dinner, though it was awkward trying to speak to one another and look at each other, and eat with elbows bumping and necks straining. I was feeling somewhat annoyed with this process. I mumbled to myself, this is no fun! The dinner was yummy, the service superb, and the bill was very reasonable. I even came home with half of my dinner for the future.

As we left, with our masks in place, my husband got into the car first and called to me; “check out the butterfly on the ground.”

I really like butterflies, And I know if there was a butterfly on the ground, it was not a good thing. They flit and flutter flying from one flower to another. They enjoy the sweet nectar from the most colorful flowers, pollinating as they go. They do not sit on a hot parking lot next to a car. I bent down to check it out. It was moving, so I gave it a little push, thinking it might start moving again. It didn’t. I put my hand down near the head part and pushed again. It basically walked onto my hand. Next it walked up my arm and onto my bright blue top. It would not fly away. It walked to my cheek and sat there a while until I figured out how to move it gently without smudging the color from the wing. I finally saw it. One of it’s wings was sliced into two pieces. When this happens, a butterfly can no longer fly, no longer get food, no longer live. I carefully studied this magnificent creature. It’s primary function in life is to bring beauty and color to our world, and of course carry pollen from one plant to another to share more beauty. I carried my new friend over to a nearby bush outside the restaurant and gently placed it there. I was thankful for the brief time I was able to enjoy this magnificent creation.

God is so out of this world with His creativity. There are over 20,000 species of butterflies. They live in virtually every country but Antarctica and in the arid desert. Their primary purpose is to look beautiful and bring joy to us whenever we are sulking about, well, anything!

‘Thank You Lord for creating these beautiful creatures, and for the special ‘one’ you sent to me when I needed a reminder of your love.’
