One Foot in Front of the Other

Revelation 1:17-18

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades

April is approaching. I expected this pandemic situation would be a distant memory by now and we would be back on he road to a ‘new normal’. But instead we are still waiting for the invisible demon to make it’s way out of this world, knowing it is not welcome here! April Anxiety came to settle in instead. The President’s that we would continue with the masks, even with the vaccine, brought anxiety to many (including me). Yes, I do know it is for all of our benefit to be able to save the lives of many people who might get into compromising situations. Yet I know that rattling around in a home is a very difficult thing to do when you are used to being out and interacting with others. And, Now it appears that we not only have the illness to be concerned about, but, our economy as well. Spending money without the substance to back it up has never been a good idea, in a home, or a government.

Yet, there are worse things that have happened, and do happen to people that we have recovered from. Look at the photo above. On our granddaughter’s 14th Birthday my husband was hit from behind by a man texting while driving 60 miles an hour. Doesn’t that sound like a DOA to you? Yet, God’s angels were there to protect him from death. Yes, he went through the accident, and we both learned to trust God more.

Just a little over 2 years ago I was knocked down by an 80 pound Labrador retriever. My femur was smashed. Again, we both learned so much through the operation, hospitalization, rehabilitation and therapy.

We could all site many more cases when we cried out to God to take away this…whatever. God said, I will walk beside you while you are strengthened, and learning…while you go through it.

April anxiety, or April Acceptance. Remember everything God sends us is for our good “For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:45”

Knowing thet He has the plan, He holds the future, and He has our best interest at His heart changes my April from fear to Faith, and anxiety, to Acceptance.

How about you? What are your feelings about this year of restrictions? Please share them in the Reply section. It may just help someone else!

The rain falls on the just and the unjust but we who know the Lord have an umbrella….that is the Holy Spirit who helps us through every storm.

Thank God all is well. Prayers and love.
Having to stay locked down isn’t fun, but it’s a great time for figuring out what’s important. Life as we know it will be different, but I trust God to be with us.
