Did A Jet Plane Land on My Car???

Psalm 118:29 New King James Version (NKJV)

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

It was February 4th, 2016 when I left my granddaughter’s 14th birthday party to head out to a Men’s meeting at the church.  I wanted to get there early to plant two artificial shrubs in the planters at the main entrance.

I was only traveling on the highway a short time when the traffic stopped due to an accident up ahead.  The car in front of me stopped, and so did I.  Unfortunately, the SUV going 65 miles an hour behind me did not see me and plowed into me.  I thought I plane had landed on me!  The driver admitted that he was texting.

My seat snapped back as all the windows shattered and threw tiny pieces of glass over my head.  The paramedics came on the scene very quickly and looked at me and said,  “You’re alive?”  “No one survives an impact like this.”  “You should be dead!”  “I am alive,” I said.  “Please get me out of this car!”  That took one hour.  I ended up with a broken leg and neck injuries.

But God!  At my two week leg check-up the doctor inquired as to how long ago the accident was.  I said two weeks ago.  He exclaimed that he has never seen a leg heal so quickly!  He instructed me to keep the removable cast on for one more week and then walk without crutches.  My neck felt fine as well.  The accident happened on a Thursday and I was at the pulpit preaching the following Sunday.  Satan was not going to hold me down!  When he told me how big this accident was I reminded him how big my God is.  Another miracle from God to add to my history log.

On a side note, I had planned to take my wife’s small car to church.  I took my large SUV instead.  The shrub trees I was transporting fit in my car better.  Had I taken her car I would have never survived the crash.  God is so good!!!

Thoughts about this event will be coming from my wife in another blog.
