Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart

I FOUND THIS IN MY BLOGS FROM LAST YEAR. FUNNY, WE THOUGHT COVID ENDED WHEN 2020 ENDED. NAY NAY! THE INFORMATION IN THIS BLOG IS STILL ACCURATE FOR THIS YEAR AND IT BEARS REPEATING. LET’S TRY IT AGAIN…2022 COVID IS REALLY DONE! AMEN!

One of the best ways I have found to keep a positive attitude about covid, while keeping a negative test result is…turn off the news! Only a fraction of what they are spewing on the news is accurate, and we do not have the ability to discern between what is accurate, or not. Therefore, stick to news you know you can trust-the good news we read in the Bible! Today I am offering some verses that can permeate your prayers for the attributes we want to experience in 2021. Please read-heed-and pray these verses daily.

  1. Pray for PEACE in the USA. It has been an especially volatile year, and violence continues in parts of America.

John 14:27 (NIV) 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

A prayer you can use; “Lord, peace has already been promised to us in your word. Please allow us to see it across America.’

2. Pray for HOPE to rise again in the hearts of Americans as we are loosing hope that America will see normal again.

Hebrews 10:23-25 (NIV) 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Prayer you can use; “Lord, we remind you of your words in this verse. You have promised, and You are faithful. Help us all to encourage each other as we continue to assemble in your house at church, as you have instructed.”

3. Pray for New Beginnings! We need to see some new, fresh, hope filled and prosperous answers to the questions that continue to nag us!

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) 18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing!

Prayer you can use; “Oh Lord, you are the creator of all things new! As we let go of the past, allow us to see clearly the ‘new thing’ You have on our horizon!”

4. Pray that our Focus Stays on Christ! So often we turn to social media, friends, tv and other sources to receive our focus. It only skews our focus, turning it from Christ and His reality!

Hebrews 12:1…Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Prayer you can use; “Since you endured the cross, and still continue to be the pioneer and perfecter of faith, please give us the perseverance to continue the race to a successful end!”

5. Pray for Blessing. When the SON smiles on us the day becomes so much more do-able and productive!

Numbers 6:24-26 NIV – “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’.

Prayer you can use; “Dearest Lord, when we feel that SONshine on our faces it motivates us to smile and we can radiate your love to others. Please keep shining on us!

As we begin a new year, remember to go into it with our hearts filled with the hope we know in Christ as we wait for the fulfillment of peace. Let us be excited about new beginnings as the Lord directs us to them and, wait, for in the right season we will be blessed, IF we do not give up and keep our focus on Jesus!

BLESSINGS TO ALL ON YOUR NEW YEAR!
