I Corinthians 2:4-5 NKJV
And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
I have had people tell me that they don’t read the Old Testament. ‘It’s too old to pertain to me’, or ‘it’s so violent’, or ‘I think it’s boring’ or ‘we are under a new dispensation now’. These are just some of the excuses people use for their lack of interest in God’s Word. I tell them that the Old and the New Testaments are ONE seamless history of God working on earth, and in the hearts of men. Recently I read an article that just stopped me in my tracks about the Ark of the Covenant of God, found in the Old Testament.
In Old Testament times the Ark of the Covenant was the dwelling place for God’s presence. It sat in the Holy of Holies inside the Temple, behind a thick curtain. Only the high priest was allowed in the Holy of Holies to offer prayers on behalf of the people. It held three items that reminded the people of God’s Law, (the Ten Commandments), the Authority of God, (in Aaron’s rod that budded), and the manna God provided for the Jews as they wandered in the desert (God’s provision). These items were the tangible reminders of an intangible God. All that changed when Jesus came to earth to live-and die among us! Now, an Ark is not necessary to carry from place to place remind us of God’s Law, God’s Authority, and God’s Provision. All these, and much more dwell within us in the form of the Holy Spirit! This was the gift Jesus left for us when He ascended into Heaven. It is the Comforter!
Think about it; the Ark contained the the Ten Commandments, Aaron’s rod and manna. Our Spirit’s now carries the Word of God, the Authority of God and the Provision of God! The Ark was highly guarded by angels-we are highly guarded by by angels! (Hebrews 1:14)
Only the High Priest had access to the Holy of Holies. Only OUR High Priest, Jesus, has access to our spirit! We are not without protection every minute of every day. The people of the Old Testament KNEW the Holy of Holies was off limits! Our enemy, the devil, knows we are off-limits, out of his bounds, untouchable because the Spirit of God Himself lives within us!
There had to be blood applied to the Ark, called the Mercy Seat. The blood of Jesus has been applied to our lives, redeeming us from the curse of the law.
The Holy of Holies was the epicenter of God’s Presence in those days. WE are now the epicenter, the Ark, of God’s presence among the people of this crooked and perverse generation. Through our lives burdens are removed from people and chains are destroyed as we demonstrate God’s authority, law and provision to others. WE walk in the demonstration of God’s Spirit-and His power!
WE ARE NOW THE HOLY OF HOLIES! We have the power of the Holy Spirit to help us demonstrate God’s power and authority to others. Don’t be afraid to carry the anointing of God to the nations. Don’t allow the enemy to minimize who you are or what you carry within you!
We are healed.
We are healthy.
We are whole.
We are anointed.
We are blessed.
We are free!
In this dark and troubled world, we are the epicenter that carries God’s Spirit and shares His gifts with the world. Don’t be afraid to share what you carry within you- with others! Oh, and please read the Old Testament and find your own revelations…than share them!
