Revelation 19:7-9
Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
8 Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear.”
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)
9 Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”
It’s party season! So many monumental events we enjoy celebrating with our friends and family, we don’t want to miss any! Between graduations, birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, and of course…weddings! We seem to be going all they time. Of course every single one of these events is life changing in the life of the one we are celebrating. Still there is another event that we want to be invited too!
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb, Jesus Christ!
This will be the be all, end all celebrations to go too! All of Heaven’s elite will be there to greet those who have been invited to come. The bride will be dressed in beautiful and bright linen. There will be no spot or wrinkle. The bride will be radiant for her groom and her groom stands ready to escort her to the banquet.
It is a glorious sight indeed. One none of us will want to miss. So, how do we get this most coveted invitation? Easy-live a life dedicated to God and consecrated for His glory, and have Jesus living in you.
This is not as easy as it sounds in this day and age, Jesus tells us we need to stand up for Him, so He will stand up for us. Withculture, all of the anti-Christian beliefs rolling around in our culture today, we must be aware and we must not fall for every new fact that gets rolled out in social media.
Example: In a nearby school district several students ‘identified’ as cats. The district was legally bound to provide cat litter boxes in the bathroom for them. Unacceptable! After hearing this was in the district, a coalition of parents needs to assemble at a school board meeting and express their disapproval of this abomination! God made us in His image and this behavior is denouncing that fact. It is offensive!
City counsel meetings are a good place to see what is going on in your city. If something ungodly surfaces you are already a familiar face in the crowd and can express your opinion.
Our lives as believers in Christ are to be salt, a purifier in our society. If we are not salty any longer, we are useless. I want to receive that beautiful invitation to the marriage supper! How about you? .
