Psalm 139:15
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
When my granddaughter was little she would sit with me in church while her parent’s were both on the worship team. I would give her a notebook and pen and she would ‘write’ to me all the secrets she held in her sweet little heart. She is a grown woman now. We still sit together in church sometimes. The secrets she shares with me now are quite different, and not written in scribbles!
Thinking of those precious times we had together was such a joy. Watching her grow from a newborn when the dr. announced; “it’s a girl” to her most recent accomplishment of finishing college with an associate’s degree, made me overjoyed! I still enjoy our chats and sharing life together.
Imagine with me for a minute as our Heavenly Father lovingly watches us from His distant Kingdom. The joy he feels as we are announced into the world. The laughter He must experience as we take our first wobbly steps. The pride when we wear our cap and gown, bride and groom attire, and then on to watching our own children as they grow and launch out in life.
As children we are so trusting and so willing to obey what our parents tell us. Something happens as we grow and our ‘will’ grabs us. We begin to see different ways to look at the world. Ways that don’t always reflect God’s nature, or His best interests for us!
Sometimes we should go back to our childlike faith and go to our Lord as a child, spilling out not only all our secrets, but also all our hurts, confusion and questions about the struggles we are facing. He is still there to listen, encourage and even bind up our wounds when needed. We can call out to Him today!
