Thankful Praise

This is the month of giving thanks! My husband gives us his thoughts on the topic! Here’s Pastor Ron;

The month of November is quickly moving toward Thanksgiving. My mind rushes to find a passage of scripture to convey my thanksgiving thoughts during this thankful month.

I searched for a verse that would highlight my being thankful for all that God has blessed me with this year.

I opened my Bible to Psalm 100 and read….

”Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!  Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.  Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;  we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.  Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.  For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”

This simple five verse chapter is packed with compelling action verbs.  Did you catch them?  We are to SHOUT to the Lord.  He is waiting to hear from us.  He then says to SERVE Him.  Not just accept Him but serve Him with all our heart.  Next we are told to COME before His presence.  That means He wants to see us daily.  In His presence we are to SING praises to Him because we know Him.  Lastly, we enter into His gates and BE THANKFUL and then BLESS His name.

As I pondered these directives I began to also realize the power of the ending nouns such as His goodness, mercy and truth.

Suddenly, it all made sense!  God loves me beyond my belief.  The bottom line is that when we go before Him with thanksgiving and praises, God falls in love with us all over again.

He loves when we obey His Word and follow His commands.  We have His complete attention when we sing and shout and praise His name.

Why don’t we comply to this powerful passage all the time?  The answer is quite simple.  We choose not to.  It is all about our choice.

We only want to do what we want to do.  We think it’s all about us instead of all about Him.

We, in some cases, refuse to heed His Word.  We think we know best.  As a result, we lose His blessings. Do you want to have an explosive end to 2022?  If your answer is “yes” that follow Psalm 100.  It will open a new door to greater blessings than you have experienced so far in your life.  Begin today with “Thankful Praise” and see His blessings flood your home
