Matthew 5:16

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

The Bible admonishes us to “let your light so shine before men.” Simply put, that means we are to live our lives in such a way that others can tell we have been with Jesus. We are to behave and act like we are disciples of Jesus. There is no reason that anyone should not be able to tell that we are a Christian.

Christianity is not about telling people we are Christians… it’s about showing them! It’s about demonstrating the love of God within our communities. In the above scripture, Jesus says that we should be engaging in good deeds. Not so people would praise us, but so we can point people to Jesus and in turn God would be glorified.

There are various ways I like to do that. I volunteer my time and talents at multiple agencies. I would encourage you to do the same.
