1 Chronicles 29:14

14“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.

It was just an evening walk in the park with my husband, but it was the day after Ida dropped 6″ of rain in our area! That river bank that was usually calm and had ducks floating, or fishermen wading, was now a wild ride! You may be seeing similar views in your area…or even worse! After checking in with family and friends we found out that many had power outages and water in their basements. As inconvenient as that is, we can think about many others who lost so much more!

My birthday is tomorrow. I am blessed to have had these 67 years with blessings on blessings. Yet my heart is breaking today as I pray for many who have not been in the path of blessing, but rather the path of wrath.

Just my recent exposure to a few asking for prayer;

28 year old with covid on a vent in the hospital, expecting their first child

a 49 year old passed away leaving his wife and teens

a 42 year old that died unexpectedly from an aneurysm leaving his wife and toddler

many in the south left with a mess from Ida

many in Afghanistan left to fend for themselves in a brutal place

This is the ‘short’ list! We feel helpless when these events happen to those around us, but we are not helpless! Our first weapon to defend these people so far away is PRAYER! We can sit quietly in our safe ‘war room’ and send up effectual and fervent prayer for those in harms way.

Something more tangible and also life sustaining…money! I know people are begging for money from every nook and cranny and your mail-box. Still I am going to put this out there for your consideration. Convoy of Hope. This is an ministry that takes tractor trailer loads of emergency supplies to people in these areas (where they can get in) giving them sustenance, and hope for a future. Showing them someone really does care!

I have been blessed with everything I need, and many more blessings beyond that! As a ‘thank you Lord’ for my blessings, I am gifting Convoy of Hope with a donation. If you have been blessed, please consider doing the same. If you read this blog and enjoy it, please consider sending Convoy of Hope a check. If your home, basement, health has been spared by the goodness of God, send a little thank you check to bless someone else. After all, we may be the ones in the ‘path of wrath’ the next time. I am sure we would want someone like Convoy of Hope to come to love on us!
