We often discuss the weapon of prayer. I trust you have been praying all along, but, with the need in front of us, I hope you kicked your prayer time and effort up a notch! ‘The effective and fervent prayer of the righteous, avails much’. Remember, you can always comment or ask a question in the reply portion. I really do read and respond to them.

Today I want to remind us all about the second weapon…the Word! Hebrews 4:12 tells us; ‘For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,

I have held a sword a couple times in my life when missionaries come through the church and bring artifacts. I find them to be heavy and very sharp! I cannot imagine being slashed by one, but, the Word will slash through our situations cutting as it goes in-and as it comes out. Thinking about that kind of power in this situation with the virus, it appears when we speak out the Word, there is no getting away from damage! Let us pick up our sword many times a day and speak out the Word over corona. It will leave.

When we speak out anything, the enemy of our soul hears, and will use it against us. A simple expression of ‘I’m scared’, will be turned into an all out attack against us. The attack then reinforces what we spoke out about what we were feeling. A vicious and destructive circle begins. That has to stop! When we speak out the Word, the enemy flees! He has no way to fight against Jesus, he knows he always looses.

We definitely have the ‘home court’ advantage’ in this skirmish! We are on the home court with Jesus-He always wins!

Remember when Jesus was about to begin His public ministry? He went out to the wilderness, to be tested! This was some test. Forty days and nights-He fasted. Then when He was totally depleted of physical nourishment, Satan came to Him.

In Matthew Chapter 4 we read; The tempter came and said to Him, ‘If you are the son of God, tell these stones to become bread”.

“Jesus replied”It is written, Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”.

Then the devil took Him to the Holy City and had him stand on the highest point in the temple. “If you are the son of God, throw yourself down For it is written” He will command His angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”

Again the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the Kingdoms of the world and their splendor “All this I will give you, if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus said, “Away from me Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.”

Best part…THEN THE DEVIL LEFT HIM AND ANGELS CAME AND ATTENDED TO HIM.

Funny thing…the devil kept trying! If you have ever worked in sales, you are trained to ask for a yes three times before you accept a no. The devil has this strategy perfected! Three times he tempted Jesus. First by the flesh with food. Second with a frivolous test. Third with the world. Each time the Word that He had hidden in his heart stopped Him from giving in.

What does that tell us? Speak the Word out over this situation. Speak it out often and out loud! As you pray, or as you go about your day. Speak the Word…use your sword!
