EXPOSED!

THIS IS AN X-RAY OF MY ARM WITH A FOREIGN OBJECT IN THE BOTTOM MIDDLE.

John 3:20 20

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

Many years ago, when our children were in elementary school, we lived in a larger city.  We liked having neighbors so close, and made friends with many of them.  My mother-in-law eventually moved into an apartment we built over our detached garage.  Well, behind her was an alley, not even sure if they have these anymore in new developments, but we enjoyed ours.  That is where the boys learned how to ride their bikes. They often played ball back there with friends, and they were always in our sight.  Problem was, when the sun went down it became a hang-out for teens!

They smoked back there and the scent wafted up to my mother-in-law’s  windows. In the summer she would have them open for the breeze and it was spoiled by their careless smoking, and, their loud, raucous and often foul mouths!

She would tell us about this, and we would hear it as well.  It did not take long before she started closing her windows and missing out on the summer breeze she loved!  We started praying about it.  The verse above came into my mind, and the Holy Spirit quickened an idea in me.

I called my mother-in-law, and my neighbor.  I told them when the crowd gathered that night in the alley, put all your outside lights on.  We did!  That bunch of teens never scattered so fast!

Scripture says it; evil has a fear of the light!  It’s so true.  That was just a simple illustration of this enormous Biblical truth. There is no fear of the glaring light of day if your deeds are good, but, if your deeds are evil, you prefer the dark.

Having a similar problem around your home?  Light your lights.  Ever notice that business’ keep a light on?  It’s not only so people can see their way safely in the dark, it’s so the ones doing the wrong things can be identified.

How about you?  Do you prefer to ‘be in the dark’?  Are your deeds questionable?  Or, do you prefer the light of day where the fresh air of truth can light your pathway?

Think about it.
