Romans 12:3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

In my prayer time this morning I began to wonder why some people just readily accept what is told to them, and some don’t. Why do some people get so fearful about what is going on in our world, and some see it as part of a bigger picture. I sometimes think people are like the six blind men who were asked to describe an elephant. The first man touched his trunk, and announced the elephant is round, like a snake. The second blind man touched the end of the elephants tusk and said the elephant is like a sword. The next man said, no, the elephant is tall like a tree, after he felt the leg. A smooth wall is what the fifth man said after running his hand on the elephants side. Another man felt the elephants ear and announced it to be like a fan. The last man felt the tail and stated that the elephant is like a rope! An argument ensued as each man believed he was right. None were really wrong, but none were right. They did not have the complete picture of an elephant. We don’t have the complete picture either!

When we only ‘look’ at the world by what we can see in the natural, of course we are not getting the full picture. We live in an environment where God dwells, and where He always at work. When we view everything through the lens of Christ and the Word, everything just looks so much different, and so much better.

When we look at the world in ‘accordance with the faith God has given us,’ we have the ‘blindness’ the world places over the truth removed. We can see clearly with F.A.I.T.H.

Facts

Accepted

In

The

Heart

First, we need to look at the Facts. But, when the facts we hear are so confusing, misleading and restrictive, who do we listen to? For truthful fact filled information, Run to the Bible. But does the Bible talk about corona? Yes!

Psalm 91:2-4 2I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

When we read this verse, and others like it, we are encouraged, our faith is built up, and our fear is shot down.

Accepted- the word accepted indicates to me that there can be information that we will not accept! When you hear the negative pronouncements come out of the mouths of media, politicians, billionaires, medical people and so on, You Do Not Have to Take it IN! Listen, put it in a box in your head somewhere, but don’t put it in your heart, the seat of emotions. we don’t need that information giving us you about how to respond.

In The. Two little words connecting what you hear to where you store the information. When you get the information from the right source, you can place it safely ‘in the’ right spot There it will be to overshadow and downplay the erroneous information you receive from the afore mentioned sources.

Heart-finally your heart, the designated seat of the emotions. The heart can be fickle, it can be kind, gentle or rude, fearful or fruitful. Who is the master of our heart? We are. We have the control button, the steering wheel, the switch to turn those emotions any way we desire. Only when we develop a maturity in life that we respond with the correct emotion. When a 2 year old has a temper tantrum it is much more acceptable than when a 30 year old rants! Developing a maturity in Christ develops our emotions even further. With the Holy Spirit living in our heart, our world of emotion is different. They should be controlled, loving and helpful. This takes a lot of training in the Bible, and practice. It is a blessing.

FAITH, we can allow the facts written in the Bible to penetrate our heart, and make monumental differences in the way we perceive the world! We can find out truths and act on them, rather than accepting every new idea flying around. I encourage you to look at our current events through the eyes of faith. I believe you will be encouraged!
