Blah!

1 Samuel 30:6 ESV

And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

It’s another beautiful March Day here in Northeast Pennsylvania! The sun is shining, its fairly warm, many flowers are still blooming, yet I am feeling…blah! According to Websters Dictionary (yes, it’s really in the dictionary), blah is a feeling of; boredom, lethargy or dissatisfaction. BINGO!

When your hopes are put into a single event, and that event is supposed to have a definite end time, and conclusion, those hopes are shattered when what you expected, has not occurred! And there is no end in site! The result is blah! There is nothing we can do, so our frustration becomes even worse. But…

God has the plan and holds the keys. We just need to be patient and wait for His answer. I found some verses that are helping me cope with the waiting. Maybe they will help you too. I recommend that we read them, then pray about them, then memorize them. One at a time, of course.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Train your mind to go to the good things listed. The battle is won!

John 16:33

33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Jesus IS the overcomer!

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[a]
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me. It’s just a shadow, light MUST be nearby!

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Hey, since God is with us wherever we go, what’s the problem?

Proverbs 18:10

The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
    the righteous man runs into it and is safe. Run to the Tower the Lord dwells in, He protects.

Romans 8:32

32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Wow! This is the best thought ever. He did not spare even His only Son…for us. I think He has this somewhat small issue in comparison, all figured out!

By the time I got done looking up these verses, reading them and writing them in this blog, my blah mood was dissipating! I am going out for a walk on this fine day. I hope you will too, and, just to make it even better, recite a verse or two! Whatever the outcome is, it is in God’s hands. He’ll figure it out!

Question: Do you find yourself thinking about things you have no control over? Let it go! I DID!
